In "2007" Scouting will celebrate it's centenary.
    
 
    There are 500,000 scouts in the UK, and everyone will be involved in the 100th celebrations. There will be  year-long programme for each section, which will complement the usual Scout programme, But with an added Centenary theme. There will also be national and local events thought the year.
 
    There are 28 million Scouts around the world in 216 countries and territories. Throughout 2007 It is the Scout Associations aim to welcome many of them to this country. Celebrations will be held at  "Brownsea island", "Gilwell Park" and many other famous Scouting sites and County sites.
 
    The UK will join in with world celebrations for the Centenary; especially on "1st August", (100 years to the day when Sir Robert Banden-Powell opened his first camp on Brownsea Island), when at 8:00 Scouts around the world will renew their promise.
