Survival tips

What is survival?

What does it mean to you?

You may be struggling across the Sahara desert, or living in the jungle of Borneo for several weeks. Survival can also mean knowing how to stay alive here in the UK
The main enemy of survival is fear of the unknown. The situation can be made worse if you are injured, or you are tired, you may not have any food & water. It could also be too hot or cold. The best way of coping with the fear is by training. You can learn many of the basic skills through scouting.
These may cover:
  • Ability to construct a shelter.
  • Ability to make a fire for cooking and/or warmth.
  • Ability to navigate safely with or without a map and compass.
  • Ability to find and cook food.
  • Ability to administer first aid.
  •
    Note:
One cannot stress enough the importance to have studied & practice "Survival Techniques" before you need them.

Below are links to pages that offer information that may help you develop your survival techniques. These pages are under construction and uploaded pages are
evolving. If you have any ideas regarding survival techniques. Please send them
& I will add to our site, all credits going to yourself. I also hope to add graphics
to the relevant topics, as it will assist with understanding the instructions.
